Attending: Dexel Burns, Kacy Burns, Tom Rogers, Gary Roeder,
John Adams, Joe Newton, Loran Newton, Joe Loucka, Sue Loucka,
Kevin Roeder, Richard England, Sr., Martha England, Mike
Burkhead and Louise Burkhead.
Kevin Roeder presided.
Minutes of the 1-19-06 meeting were read and approved.
Business:
1. HamFest was discussed. Apparently others have heard of it and
plan on being here.
2. “Forum” of our website needs to be used more.
3. Next month Ron Means will report on ARES.
4. All were urged to avoid “kerchunking” the repeater.
Apparently someone has been doing this and as yet we don’t know
how. All were reminded that any transmission without
identification is not only bothersome to others, but it is
illegal.
5. We will have a “fox hunt” and a cookout. If any interest is
shown in the actual hiding and finding the fox, we can do that.
But, all are interested in the cookout and fellowship.
6. Kevin had a good presentation of the basics of resistors.
7. Joe Newton brought some very old tubes and other interesting
items from the past for all to see.
8. There was some discussion regarding who is to call the ARES
net in the months to come. No one volunteered.
Everyone enjoyed the meeting and the presentation on resistors.
We look forward to more information on various electronic
components and circuits.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM,
